Lamar is equipped to serve regional conventions with attendance up to 200 persons.  Each of these facilities are either adjacent to, or within 5 minutes of, U.S. Highway 71.  Listed below (in order of size for number of attendees) are facilities, locations, and amenities available for your next meeting.

Memorial Hall:  Located in Downtown Lamar, the Memorial Hall has meeting space on two levels.  The upper level will accommodate 150-200 persons.  The lower level will serve 50-75.  Kitchen facilities are located on the lower with direct access to both floors.  Handicapped access with elevators are on site.  For more information, or to make a reservation, contact the Lamar Fire Department at 417-682-5512

Thiebaud Auditorium:  Relatively new, an 800-seat performing arts center accompanies meeting rooms equipped for up to 125 persons.  A newly remodeled kitchen serves both the meeting room and the lobby.  The facility is located one block off of the Downtown Square and is located close to the Truman State Birthplace Historic Site/Park.  For more information, or to make a reservation, contact the Lamar Parks and Recreation Department at 417-682-5851

The Honey Pot:  The Honey Pot catering service operates a convention facility capable of seating around 100 persons.  The catering service and kitchen are located on site and adjacent to the room.  The facility is located on the south edge of Lamar near the City Park and the industrial district surrounding O'Sullivan Industries.  For more information, or to make a reservation, contact the Honey Pot at 417-681-0655.

Wolf Civic Center:  Opening in summer of 2002, this new facility will feature two meeting rooms with kitchen facilities on site.  One room will seat approximately 30 persons in a roundtable format.  The larger conference room will accommodate approximately 75 persons.  A high-speed, broadband, internet connection is available for use in this new, state-of-the-art facility.  For more information, contact the University Outreach and Extension Service at 417-682-3579. 

Denny's Restaurant:  Located in view of U.S. Highway 71 in Lamar Heights with close proximity to the Super 8 Motel, the Denny's Meeting room will seat 30 persons in a roundtable format comfortably.  Menu service from Denny's is prompt and courteous. Super 8 Motel:  America's best-rated Super 8 Motel is located just off U.S. Highway 71.  In addition to clean, comfortable, and affordable lodging rooms, the Super 8 has a meeting room for 20-30 persons with several restaurants located within walking distance.  Contact the Super 8 at 417-682-6888 for details or reservations.
